  • Description

    Dimensions: - 14.8 × 4.6 cm

    Ingredients / Materials: - Concrete

Candle not included. Pair it with the 3 Wick Fragranced Pillar Candle. The perfect accompaniment to all of our holders to catch any rogue drips. Our plate has also been designed to hold any of our candles or a simple tealight. This hand-poured concrete plate sits upon three natural cork feet creating a floating aesthetic when placed directly on a surface or a snug connection when stacked on top of the lid of our pot. All of our holders can be stacked on top of the plate. Due to this product's hand-crafted and hand-poured nature, there may be slight variations in colour and natural surface imperfections. We embrace this. It is a part of the design. It makes each piece unique.
  • About the Designer

From a little man-cave concrete tinkering, inspiration was born. Concrete and Wax founders Alex inspired Laura with his concrete creations, which made her start thinking about wax believing that the two contrasting materials would work beautifully together. Some girl-time candle-making experiments followed, and after much R&D, prototyping, sampling and testing, we can now say assuredly, HE is Mr Concrete, and SHE is Mrs Wax.

    First candle mould

To create a collection, they sought out true craftsmen in the local area to transform their designs on paper into the 3D forms from which they cast the moulds. The concrete designs were formed in aluminium and the candles from layered plywood. They then set about mixing and testing our concrete and wax creations to achieve the perfect formulas for each – we’re not going to lie, there were quite a few disasters en route. Somewhere during our concrete testing, we had a creative epiphany and decided to try out a camouflage effect – 4 days of nervous waiting later, when the concrete had finally set and was ready to be released from the mould, we waited with bated breath. We loved the result so much that the camouflage collection was born – and will be added to as our collection grows.

When it came to the finishing touches, we scoured the local market to source as much as possible – our aim to support local business and keep our footprint as small as possible.
